The Game: Season 4 Episode 4 - The Wing King

So Malik decides to go "head to head" with a police officer.  How crazy is that?  He is already jeopardizing his career by having an affair with his coach's wife, and now he is further jeopardizing it with a DUI and by assaulting a police officer?!  People do some crazy things.

This season, I think they have turned Malik's character into a ridiculously arrogant person.  He has no regard for anyone's feelings and has completely shocked us all by the way he treats his childhood best friend, TT.  He treats TT like he owes him something, and if it has anything to do with the investment he made in TT's wing truck, TT has made plenty enough money to give it back to him, which he does.  TT has had Malik's back since day one and has never used him for a single red cent, which a number of other people have done.  TT has made every effort to fix the results of Malik's carelessness and avoid any further problems these careless acts could potentially cause.  Even after TT decided to stop working as Malik's personal assistant, he still steps in to mediate problems that Malik runs into, proving to be Malik's friend to the end.  Malik has made a BIG mistake.

Let's see what happens next on season 4's 4th episode of The Game, every Tuesday at 10pm ET/PT on BET.

It's Game Time...Even on Social Media

Social Media Stats for 4th season premier of "The Game" (from http://www.poptower.com/news-24560/the-game-bet-premiere-ratings-record.htm)
  • The Game's official Facebook page averaged 893 wall posts per min
  • An average of 750 comments per minute on The Game's official Facebook page after the status update "What did you think about tonight's episode?"
  • Held 9 of the top 10 trending topics spots on Twitter
On the premier date, and even during the second episode of The Game, I was tuned in to Facebook along with the show.  If I missed anything, which I did not - and I do mean ANYTHING - I could literally scroll through my Newsfeed to find out EXACTLY what happened.  Honestly, I never realized how much social media has grown in the past few years.  During my 2nd semester of freshman year in undergrad (2004) I joined Facebook, which only allowed access to students with college email addresses.  At times I thought it was pretty boring because the people who were able to use it was so limited.  A number of my friends did not attend large universities that assigned email addresses to the students, so there wasn't much taking place on my wall.  Now I have over 700 Facebook friends, which are all family, friends, coworkers, and classmates.  (It could have been more, but I'd rather it be all people that I know, and crazy enough I know all 700-something people on my friends list)

Now, I have finally jumped into the world of Twitter and it completely AMAZED me when I saw the number of people who were registered users.  In my head I was thinking, "Wow, I'm the 238,722,342nd person to sign up."  Bananas, right?!

Tune in for The Game every Tuesday night @ 10pm ET/PT on BET

Until next time.....

Off The Air: What happened 2 years ago was...

So, some may be wondering what happened in '08 that caused The Game to go off the air.  Well, after doing some research I found that the CW network was getting rid of their 30 minute sitcoms in favor of 1 hour shows.  Of course someone used their brain and suggested they put 2 episodes together to make the show an hour long, but the CW decided to be stubborn and get rid of the show.  BUT... because of the fans, BET was able to pick up the "dramady" and eventually bring it back for a 4th season.  It is typically difficult to revive a show after 2 years off being off the air.  According to an article on TV Guide's website (http://www.tvguide.com/News/The-Game-Premiere-1027523.aspx), the creator of the show, Mara Brock Akil, commented "You don't see those too often. Usually, the longer it takes, the less likely it is. But here we are. The game is alive and kicking!"  The support for the show has been so great that one should expect the 7.7 million viewers that tuned in for the premier of the 4th season.

Stay tuned for The Game every Tuesday night at 10:00pm ET/PT on BET

It's Game Time!!! Season 4 Episodes 1 & 2 - Parachutes/Beach Chairs

The much anticipated fourth season of The Game has finally become a reality.  Its season premiere was Tuesday January 11, 2011 and it was full of new faces and the usual DRAMA!!!  Some of the new faces we have seen so far include actress Megan Goode, BET's 106 and Park host Terrance J., and a cameo by Real Housewife of Atlanta's Sheree.

Some of the show's beginnings of drama that have already surfaced:
  • Melanie Davis (Tia Mowry) suspects that her husband, Derwin Davis' (Pooch Hall), son is not really his.  Her curiousity gets the best of her, so she swabs the kid and has one of her classmates complete a paternity test.  Having her doubts confirmed, Melanie disappoints by revealing the test results to her husband.  Of course Derwin gets mad.  Who wants to hear that the child they've been supporting is really not theirs?!  Unfortunately, by the end of the show Melanie finds that the results were incorrect and the classmate had repeated the test more than once to find that little DJ is in fact Derwin's son.  Tsk tsk tsk... Shame on her!
  • The wife of the San Diego Saber's coach, played by Megan Goode, is having an affair with  star quarterback, Malik Wright (Hosea Chanchez).  The coach doesn't know yet, but it could get ugly if he finds out.  I can't believe he would risk his image, and possibly his career, by pulling a stunt like that one.
  • Jason Pitts (Coby Bell) and Kelly Pitts (Brittany Daniel) are still at it!  Even post-divorce the two just can't seem to leave eachother alone.  Kelly now has her own reality tv show about life after her cheap husband.  Were these two honestly ready to call it quits?
This is not all of the drama, but it is a taste of what has already unfolded.  Stay tuned to this blog for up-to-date information about the show, its cast members, and other related news.

Until next time...
